“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment.” — Leo Buscaglia

DAILY VITAMIN
Unspoken love is a gift still in the box.
You feel it constantly. You assume they know. They are not mind readers, and the ones who need it most are the ones who will never ask for it.
Say one specific thing out loud tonight.
Name who they are, not what they achieved.
Say it to their face instead of in a text.
INSPIRATIONAL STORY
They Cannot Hear What You Only Think
God wrote a blessing and then told Aaron to say it aloud.
God could have let the blessing be an idea, a posture, a general goodwill hanging in the air over Israel. Instead, He assigned the words and ordered them spoken out loud.
“The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Then the line right after it. “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
Saying it is part of how the blessing lands.
Now go look at your own house. You love your kid with something close to violence. You would step in front of a car for them. But when did you last say a specific, out-loud, unprompted sentence about who they are and what they mean to you?
You love your spouse, and you’re probably reminded of small things that make you smile every day. Do you stop to say that part out loud?
Most of us hand out performance feedback. “Good game.” “You got an A!” “Great job on that report.”
When someone does a “good job,” we’re quick to throw praise their way. But are we as vocal about our feelings? Our admiration for who they are as a person? The gratitude you have for their relationship?
Almost nobody gets character feedback. “I love how brave you are.” “You’re a steady person, and I know I can count on you.” or “Wow, you brighten my day just by being you.”
At the Jordan River, the Father tore the sky open to say it out loud, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” He said that before the ministry began, not after. This means it wasn’t praise from performance, but a blessing out of love.
Here’s your focus for today:
Say One Thing: Tell one person in your house something specific and good tonight.
Name the Character: Speak to who they are instead of what they accomplished.
Say It to Their Face: Not a text, not later. Out loud, eyes up.
Anchor your day in this truth: “The Lord bless you and keep you.” (Numbers 6:24)
They cannot hear what you only think.
The words cost you nothing and they last decades.
Say it tonight.
