The Power Of Showing Up (For Yourself)
You wake up before sunrise.
The house is quiet.
The coffee is warm in your hands.
And already, your mind is racing.
Deadlines. Bills.
That hard conversation you have been avoiding.
The goal that feels farther away than it did a year ago.
You sit there and think, I am tired.
Not just sleep-tired. Soul-tired.
And a quiet thought creeps in:
Maybe I just do not have it in me.
I have had mornings like that.
As a husband.
As a father.
As a leader.
Carrying a weight that no one else sees.
There are days when showing up feels harder than the work itself.
But here’s what I am learning:
Showing up is a spiritual decision.
Most people think a breakthrough starts with talent or momentum.
It doesn’t.
It starts with a choice.
A choice to get up when you would rather stay down.
A choice to try again when the last attempt did not work.
A choice to believe that God is still writing your story.
Scripture says, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
Notice the condition: if we do not give up.
The harvest is tied to endurance.
Self-respect is built in private battles.
There is something powerful that happens when you push through a hard season.
You may not see results right away.
You may not hear applause.
You may not feel strong.
But deep inside, something is forming.
Character.
Confidence.
Trust in God that is no longer theory, but a lived experience.
Some of the hardest seasons of my life did not grow my platform.
They grew my backbone.
They taught me that obedience matters more than outcomes.
And that faithfulness in small steps builds strength for bigger ones.
When you show up for yourself, you are not being selfish.
You are stewarding the life God gave you.
Your perseverance is bigger than you think.
There are eyes on your life.
Your kids.
Your spouse.
Your team.
Your friends who are barely holding on.
When you keep going, you give them permission to do the same.
You prove that setbacks are not the end.
You show that faith is not fragile.
You remind the people around you that quitting is not the only option.
And even if no one claps for you, heaven sees you.
God sees you.
It is not over yet.
You may feel behind.
You may feel like you wasted time.
You may feel like you do not have what it takes.
But quitting guarantees one thing: regret.
And showing up keeps hope alive.
So today, do not try to win the whole race.
Just take the next step.
Send the email.
Have the hard talk.
Say the prayer.
Get up. Keep going. Show up.
Because your story is not over.
And the same God who called you is still standing with you.
One step at a time.
That is how your breakthrough begins.
