There’s a character in the Bible who rode a chariot, impaled two kings, toppled a witch, and then slaughtered an entire cult of priests in their own temple.
You’ll find his story in 2 Kings… His name is Jehu.
His story is too gory for Sunday school. Jehu takes his chariot to destroy the evil Kings of Israel and Judah. He then rides into Jezreel and finds Jezebel. He has her tossed off her tower, and dogs feed on her flesh.
And he’s just getting started.
He then calls every prophet of Baal into one temple under a lie, packs them in shoulder to shoulder, and shuts the doors. They’re slaughtered in front of their idols.
This is one of the bloodiest, most cinematic arcs in all of Scripture.
Most Christians have never heard a word of it.
