TODAY’S OBJECTIVES
Daily Vitamin: You already know more than you are doing.
Inspirational Story: The bookshelf that became a hiding place.
Verse of the Day: James 1:22
DAILY VITAMIN
You already know more than you are doing.
More information feels like progress. Often it is a very respectable way to postpone the part that costs something.
Pick the one verse you already understand.
Do what it says before lunch.
Skip the extra chapter today.
INSPIRATIONAL STORY
Stop Studying. Start Obeying.
Trent owns eleven books on prayer. He’s read nine of them. But… Trent prays about four minutes a week. Nobody would call that hypocrisy. He is a sincere man with a highlighter and good intentions.
However, Trent has fallen into the trap of studying as a substitute.
Another podcast. Another Substack. Another audiobook.
We can store up truth in our minds, but none of it translates to our hands.
James, the brother of Jesus, reminds us that we must not merely be listeners of the word, but doers, lest we deceive ourselves.
Deceive yourselves. Sit on that word.
Learning without doing feels exactly like growth, but you’re standing still. Oftentimes, it’s not a new truth that you need, but the nerve to act on that truth.
Do you have a refined philosophy on how people should help the poor? Good. Go help the poor.
Do you have all the therapeutic language for handling conflict? Good. Go reconcile with someone you’ve been bitter toward.
You don’t need new information; you need to act upon the information you already have.
Forgive the person. Make the call. Give the money. Say the truth. Stop the thing. You already know which one it is. It came to mind before I finished the list.
Jesus said, "Follow me,” and then He walked. The men who learned the most were the ones whose feet were moving.
Here’s your focus for today:
Pick the Verse You Know: Choose one command you already understand and stop researching it.
Act Before Lunch: Do the thing today while the conviction is still warm.
Skip the Extra Chapter: Leave the next study for tomorrow and let obedience be the lesson.
Anchor your day in this truth: “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (James 1:22)
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
Fruit of the Spirit Action: Avoid a place or situation where you know temptation will be present.

WATCH THE BIBLE COME TO LIFE
I’ve shown you plenty of Pray Production Studio. Bible stories come to life and book trailers from authors.
But have I told you that you can put yourself in the story?
Yep. Put yourself in Bethlehem, tending sheep with David. Put yourself in Jerusalem as Jesus stands trial.
