Inspirational Story: The weight nobody handed you.
Verse of the Day: Matthew 6:34
DAILY VITAMIN
Your job is the next step. The outcome is His.
Most of what is sitting on your chest today is an outcome, not a task. You cannot control it and you were never asked to guarantee it.
Write down what is actually yours to do today.
Do that one thing.
Say out loud what you are handing back to God.
INSPIRATIONAL STORY
Put Tomorrow Down
Take an honest inventory of what is on you right now.
Some of it is work. Real, doable, on your plate.
A surprising amount of it is outcome.
Whether the treatment holds. Whether your kid turns out okay. Whether the offer comes. Whether they forgive you.
You have been carrying results as though they were responsibilities.
Nobody handed you that job. You picked it up because putting it down felt like not caring.
Jesus is almost blunt about this. Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Each day has enough. That is the part we skip past.
He is measuring out the load.
Today's trouble comes with today's grace.
Tomorrow's grace has not been issued yet, which is exactly why tomorrow feels unbearable when you drag it into tonight.
Israel learned this with bread on the ground. Gather what you need for today. Hoard tomorrow's portion and it rots by morning.
God fed them one day at a time for forty years, on purpose.
And the prayer Jesus taught asks for daily bread. Not a warehouse. Daily.
He carried a cross He was never required to carry so you could put down the ones you were never assigned.
Here’s your focus for today:
Sort the List: Write down what is actually yours to do today and what is only an outcome.
Do Your Part: Complete the one thing on the first list and let that be enough.
Hand It Back: Say out loud the outcome you are returning to God.
Anchor your day in this truth: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:34)
Today's portion is on the ground.
It is enough.
Gather today's.
