Healing Secret Wounds and Embracing God’s Love
with Adam Mesa, Lead Pastor of Abundant Living Family Church
He Sees You
Nothing separates you from the love of God—this is a promise you can hold onto. God hears your silent cries and catches every tear.
This week on Relentless Hope, Pastor Adam Mesa shares how to heal from secret wounds. We can overcome hardships and reshape our future by clinging to God and using our painful experiences as motivation.
Words of Hope:
“As my sufferings mounted I soon realized that there were two ways in which I could respond to my situation — either to react with bitterness or seek to transform the suffering into a creative force. I decided to follow the latter course.”
― Martin Luther King, Jr.
LIFE
In part 1 of Relentless Hope, Pastor Adam Mesa shares how he overcame his hidden emotional scars. He teaches that despite facing hardships in life, we can change our future by altering our perspective on past experiences and using them as fuel for our future. Pastor Adam also advises that if we want to help others heal, we need to demonstrate God’s love and remind them of His plan for their future. He encourages us to share our stories to help ourselves and others heal.
LEADERSHIP
In part 2 of Relentless Hope, Pastor Adam Mesa is honest about his brokenness and recklessness as a teenager. His brother helped transformed his life by sharing that God has a plan for him, and Jesus chose to die to prove His everlasting love.
Adam encourages us to share our vulnerable testimonies with others to remind them they are not alone in what they’ve experienced. When we share our past and how we overcame our struggles, others are more willing to share their stories and start their healing process.
LEGACY
In part 3 of the podcast, Adam shares that he aims to leave a legacy by helping others heal. He emphasizes the importance of nurturing community and caring for our neighbors, inviting them into our lives to encourage them. Community creates accountability, helps us stay on God’s path, and establishes a fulfilling life. Adam urges us to be positive with others, showing up for them even when it’s hard, and mentoring the younger generation to pass on God’s wisdom. Even when facing difficulty, brightening someone’s day can bring joy and ease our own troubles.
Scripture to reflect on:
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
– John 14:27
Closing prayer for Adam’s story:
Dear Lord, help me feel Your presence beside me as I seek to heal these past wounds. In You, I find comfort and peace. I release this pain to You to know true freedom and regain peace and joy. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
God makes this very clear: God forgives and forgets your sins when you confess and repent. Your past does not define you, and only He has the power to shape your future. Share your testimony in the comments below. Others are blessed when you share what God has done in your life.
Thank you for being a force in faith and prayers 🙏
