TODAY’S OBJECTIVES
Daily Vitamin: You do not have to clean up before you come home.
Inspirational Story: The waiting room nobody put you in.
Verse of the Day: Romans 5:8
DAILY VITAMIN
You do not have to clean up before you come home.
Somewhere along the way you decided God wants the rested, repentant, well-behaved version of you. So you wait. And the waiting becomes its own kind of distance.
Pray today in the condition you are actually in.
Tell one honest person where you have been.
Take one step back before you feel worthy of it.
INSPIRATIONAL STORY
God Is Not Waiting for the Better You
Ray has not prayed in nine months, and it’s not because he’s rebellious or falling away. He just keeps telling himself that he will start again once things settle down.
Once he stops the thing he keeps doing.
Once he feels less like a hypocrite.
That is a waiting room with no receptionist.
Nobody put him there. He built it, furnished it, and locked it from the inside. You may be sitting in a similar waiting room right now. “I’ll start going to church, praying, and all that stuff once I get my life more in order.”
The logic feels humble… It’s not.
My friends, there are only two different types of people in this world:
Dirty rotten stinkin sinners who need grace.
Jesus.
If you’re not Jesus, then you’re in that first category.
Grace is not a reward for perfection; it’s the catalyst for progress.
There’s a son in Luke's Gospel who rehearses a speech on the road home back to his dad. He’s messed up, and is trying to find the right words to make his father forgive him. But the son never gets to give his speech. Why? Because the father ran to him the second he saw his son return.
This is the whole shape of the gospel… Christ died for us while we were still sinners. The timing is the entire point.
Here’s your focus for today:
Pray Dirty: Talk to God today in the exact condition you are in, with nothing tidied up first.
Tell One Person: Say out loud to somebody safe where you have actually been.
Move Before You Feel Ready: Take one step back toward God today without waiting to deserve it.
Anchor your day in this truth: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
He is already running. You can stop rehearsing the speech.
Go home.

WATCH THE BIBLE COME TO LIFE
You would have missed this story…
Jehu’s story is tucked into 2 Kings, where very few people venture. But his reign as king was one of the most exciting, radical, and cinematic moments in scripture.
He toppled a wicked empire, put an end to Jezebel, and slaughtered the priests of Baal.
