Emphasizing our Spiritual Bond with God for a Meaningful Life
with Seth Streeter, Founder and Chief Impact Officer of Mission Wealth
Overcoming Loneliness
Many of us experience loneliness and a longing for something more. We yearn for a sense of belonging and support from loved ones. Connection is woven into the very fabric of our existence, intended by our Higher Power. Not only does God desire a profound spiritual connection with us, but He also calls us to connect with one another. He understands the pain and suffering of this broken world, and through honest, loving, and trusting relationships, we can find solace and resilience.
On this week’s episode of Relentless Hope, Seth Streeter shares how he learned to blend his spiritual and professional life and overcame debilitating panic attacks that threatened his career. Join us as we learn about how a strong connection with God and others can transform your journey.
Words of Hope:
“To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement.”
- Saint Augustine
LIFE
In part 1, we learn how Seth changed his mindset. Before experiencing panic attacks, Seth viewed himself as a successful professional, deriving his self-worth from external validation. If he accomplished something, he felt deserving...even worthy of love.
Initially, Seth kept his commitment to community service separate from his career. However, he recognized the need to unite the two. In doing so, he discovered new opportunities emerging before him. We also learn how Seth’s panic attacks experiences taught him humility…we are all susceptible to reaching thresholds where our minds and fears can overpower us.
Lesson from LIFE: This is the process Seth uses to overcome panic attacks: acknowledge the sensations immediately, assure yourself there’s nothing to be afraid of, and use a coping technique (which could be as simple as holding a glass of cold water and feeling the sensation through your fingertips).
LEADERSHIP
In part 2 of Relentless Hope, Seth explains the importance of making mindful choices that impact ourselves and those we lead. He highlights the power of vulnerability and being present with others, reminding us to prioritize emotional intelligence and authentic connections. Seth encourages empowered and playful leadership while stressing the significance of being positive, caring, and leading by example. He shares lessons from failures, emphasizing the value of growth and learning. Understanding team strengths and fostering personal connections are crucial for long-term success.
Lesson from LEADERSHIP: Effective leadership involves knowing and understanding people and their abilities and setting realistic expectations for achievement.
LEGACY
In part 3, Seth shares his desire to create a lasting impact of compassion and connection as his enduring legacy. At his wealth management company, Mission Wealth, Seth prioritizes caring for his team, clients, and communities where the company operates. Seth empowers his team, promotes a collaborative environment, and provides education and retreats. He aims to help families nationwide find financial freedom and deep fulfillment. He finds joy in helping individuals achieve greater fulfillment and purpose through deep connections, personal development, and meaningful societal contributions.
Lesson from LEGACY: Financial freedom empowers you to explore new hobbies, embark on vacations, and better support and contribute to your community.
Scripture to reflect on:
“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.”
- Romans 12:10
Closing prayer for Seth’s story:
Dear Lord, I know how significant relationships and connections are. So please show me how I can experience deeper, more meaningful ones. Please teach me to open my heart to give and receive love, support, and strength. And help me to empower, encourage, and uplift everyone I meet. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’s Name, amen.
Prioritizing intimacy with God deepens our relationship and positively impacts every aspect of life. It enhances our interactions, fostering love, peace, and hope through connections with God and others.
