INSPIRATIONAL STORY
Becoming More Like Him
The scroll starts before the coffee does.
Most mornings, before your feet hit the floor, someone else’s highlight reel is already loading on your phone.
Their promotion, their fitness transformation, their perfectly filtered family photo.
And without meaning to, you begin to measure yourself against it.
That measuring costs you more than you know.
Comparison steals your focus, drains your energy, and blurs the very thing God placed inside you.
It tells you that you are behind.
But the truth is, you’re simply on a different road.
You were not made for someone else’s story.
God did not craft your gifts, your calling, and your timeline so you could spend your best hours wishing for someone else’s.
He had something specific in mind when He created you.
That something only shows up when you stop running their race and start walking yours.
Paul understood this from a prison cell.
Not from a stage or a moment of triumph. From chains.
And still he pressed forward, not sideways, not backward.
The only version of you worth measuring against is the one from yesterday.
A little more patient.
A little more faithful.
A little more willing to trust where God is leading.
That is sanctification.
The slow, steady, daily work of becoming more like Him.
Not more like culture or like anyone else.
More like Him.
You are not behind. You are becoming.
So, here’s your focus for today:
Celebrate a win: write down and celebrate one way you have grown this past year, even if it feels small.
Look forward, not sideways: Ask God to keep your eyes forward and your heart steady in His pace.
Take a risk: Do one thing today that the old you would have walked away from.
Anchor your day in this truth: “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” (Philippians 3:12)
Stop measuring sideways.
Start pressing forward.
God’s plan for you is still in motion
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Devotion: Just as the seasons change in their time, so do the seasons of our lives. Trust that God is working, even in the unseen moments.
Action: Spend time in nature today and reflect on how everything in creation follows God’s perfect timing.
