The Bunny Fades by Monday. Jesus Doesn’t

You made it through Easter Sunday.
The service, the brunch, the matching outfits, the baskets, the sugar.

Now it’s Monday.

And here’s the question worth sitting with:
Did yesterday change anything?

Or did the resurrection get filed under “annual event” somewhere between the Cadbury eggs and the Instagram brunch spread?

It seems like our culture looked at the cross and said, “Cool story, now where’s the chocolate?”
And before you know it, Easter has become less about the empty tomb and more about who had the most eggs in their basket.

That’s the consumer mentality.
It looks good on the outside—cute, festive, and shareable—but it’s hollow in the middle. Like a chocolate bunny, actually.

The cross mentality is different. It’s not focused on comparison, like who had the bigger service, the better basket, or the more aesthetic table setting.

It’s focused on grace.

On the victory over sin, death, and the grave.

On a resurrection that wasn’t just a one-day event but a permanent shift in what’s possible.

The consumer mentality ends like the post-Easter sugar crash: a moment of sweetness followed by emptiness.

But the cross mentality echoes into eternity.
And eternity doesn’t fit in an Easter basket.

The bunny fades by Monday.
You’re already there.
The question is which mentality you’re carrying into the week.

Here’s your focus:

Start with the cross, not the feed. Open Scripture before you open social media this morning. What you consume first shapes the lens for everything that follows.

Choose service over comparison. Identify one person to bless today, not for the story or for the post. The cross mentality looks outward, not inward.

Build something eternal. Swap one hollow habit this week for something that feeds your soul. One thing.

Anchor your week in this truth: “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above.” — Colossians 3:1

Am I celebrating Easter or living resurrected?

That’s the only question that matters this Monday.

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." (Psalm 27:14)

Devotion: Waiting is not idle time; it is where God refines our hearts. Embrace stillness as an opportunity to draw closer to Him and strengthen your faith.

Action: Instead of checking your phone while waiting today, use the time to reflect or pray.

You don’t need permission to obey God’s calling. Throw off fear disguised as caution, sign your own permission slip, and take the first imperfect step today.

TUESDAY: Check your self-talk.

Your worth isn’t determined by distorted mirrors of shame, comparison, or past failures. God’s reflection shows the truth you need to see.

WEDNESDAY: Audit your grind with God’s eyes.

Not every hard thing is holy. Stop chasing difficult achievements for validation and start pursuing soul-building struggles that nourish you and serve God’s purposes.

THURSDAY: The sequence that sustains everything

Before Jesus sent the disciples to do anything, He called them to be with Him. Identity comes before impact. Character sustains what skill builds.

FRIDAY: The voice you’re listening to isn’t God’s.

You’ve been fighting a locked door that was never locked. God gave you power, not fear. The cell is a lie. Walk through.

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.” (Lamentations 3:25)

Devotion: Waiting is not wasted time—it’s where God shapes and prepares you for what’s next.

Action: When tempted to rush something today, pause and ask: "What is God teaching me in the waiting?"

The Cell You Built From Borrowed Beliefs

Harry Houdini once claimed he could break out of any jail in the world.

One day, a challenge was presented.
He stepped into a cell, confident.
Hidden in his belt was a tool to pick the lock.

Thirty minutes passed.
Nothing.
An hour.
Sweat dripped down his face.

Two hours in, exhausted, he collapsed against the door.

And it swung open.
It was never locked.
He just thought it was…

How often have you been in that cell?
Feeling trapped and paralyzed.
Not by actual walls, but by voices that have made themselves at home in your head.
You’re not good enough.
You don’t have what it takes.
This is impossible.

These aren’t facts.
They’re beliefs you’ve been treating like locks on doors that were never locked to begin with.
But God’s word doesn’t leave room for the cell.

And the fact that you can name the fear means you’re already standing at the door.

Here’s your focus for this week:

Test the lock. Write down the one belief keeping you stuck. Then ask, “Is there actual evidence this is true, or is it just a voice I’ve been listening to? Test it like Houdini should have tested the door.

Swap the voice. Next to each fear, write God’s truth over it. A specific verse or promise that directly contradicts the lie. Read it out loud. The voice you feed is the one that wins.

Take one step through. Identify the one thing fear has been keeping you from and do the first small part of it today. Not the whole thing, just enough to prove the door moves.

Anchor your week in this truth: “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

The door is open.
It always was.
Walk through.

“But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” (Romans 8:25)

Devotion: God sees the bigger picture. Keep hoping and trusting that His answers are always for your best.

Action: Reflect on a past prayer that took time to be answered. Thank God for His faithfulness.

Who Do You Want to BE?

You just introduced yourself at a networking event.
Name, company, title.

On the drive home, you thought,
Is that really who I am? Or just what I do?

Your job isn’t who you are. It’s what you do.

What you do will always flow from who you are.

That’s the sequence that changes everything: BE → DO → HAVE.

Before the impact comes the identity.

Before the output comes the input.

This isn’t a self-improvement formula. It’s a discipleship one

The fact that you’re asking “who do I want to be?” means you’re already further along than most.
That shift in question is the beginning of the BE.

Here’s your focus for today:

Be before you do. Spend time with Jesus before you spend time on your work today. Let identity precede activity.

Audit your doing. Write down your three biggest current pursuits. Next to each, ask: Is this flowing from who I am in God, or from who I’m trying to prove I am to others?

Build the character, not just the career. Identify one character quality you want to develop this week—patience, integrity, generosity. Name one specific situation today where you can practice it.

Anchor your day in this truth: “He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach” , Mark 3:14

Before Jesus sent anyone, He asked them to be with Him simply.

Start there.

Everything else flows from that one place.

"Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry." (James 1:19)

Devotion: True patience is revealed in how we listen. Slow down and seek understanding.

Action: Pause before responding to someone today. Listen fully before speaking.

Why Difficulty Doesn’t Equal Value

It’s mid-week.
You’re in your office checking your email.
Suddenly, you’re staring at the certificate on your wall.

The one that cost you sixty-hour weeks and Saturday mornings with your kids.

It looks smaller than you remember.
You feel hollow.

That’s not failure.
That’s your soul telling you the truth.

Not every hard thing is a holy thing.
Some battles just bleed you dry.

The wrong grind doesn’t just waste your time.
It costs you the things time can’t replace.

A trophy shelf is for display. A garden is for growth.

One freezes a moment and asks you to keep proving it.
The other requires daily tending and gives back more than you put in.

God didn’t design you for the shelf.
He designed you for the garden.
For soul-building.

The fact that the certificate looks smaller than you remember is not defeat.
That’s discernment.

Here’s your focus for today:

Test your grind: Ask yourself: Does this challenge me and bless others, or just exhaust me and impress people? Write your honest answer right now. That’s your signal.

Name the “why.” Write down the real reason you’re chasing this. If the answer involves someone else’s voice more than God’s, that’s worth sitting with today.

Choose the garden. Identify one thing you’re doing for the shelf that belongs in the ground instead, and make the switch.

Anchor your day in this truth: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy.” — Matthew 6:19

Stop building for the shelf.
Start tending the garden.
That’s where God does His best work.

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him…." (Psalm 37:7)

Devotion: God's timing is perfect. When delays come, they are divine opportunities to trust Him more deeply.

Action: When you're stuck in traffic or a long line, resist frustration by taking a deep breath and praying.

Trading Broken Mirrors for God's Truth

It’s a beautiful Tuesday morning.
You’re getting ready to start your day.
But you stand in front of the bathroom mirror again.

That voice is back.
Not enough. Still not enough.

All you can see is what’s missing.
What’s broken.
What should be different by now.

You’re not broken.
You’re just using the wrong mirror.

You’ve been staring into cracked glass.
Past failures.
Old wounds.
Someone’s careless words that landed like stones.
These things became the mirrors you use.
And they lie.

But God’s mirror shows something different.
Psalm 139 says you’re fearfully and wonderfully made.
You ARE. Right now. Present tense.

So you’re closer to wholeness than you think.

Here’s your focus for today:

Write it down: Open your notes and actually write the things you’re thinking about yourself. Would you say them to someone you love?

Find better mirrors: Name one person who sees your worth when you can’t, and let them speak truth over you today.

Measure by contribution, not comparison. Ask what you can give today that only you can give.

Anchor your day in this truth: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” – Psalm 139:14

Throw away the cracked glass.

You are enough.

You have always been enough.

“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4:9)

Devotion: When we put into practice the truths we’ve learned, God’s peace becomes a tangible reality in our lives. Continue applying His Word, and watch His peace guide you forward.

Action: Celebrate how far you’ve come this month. Share one lesson about peace with a friend or family member.

What if I’m not good enough yet?

Your finger hovers.
You close the app.

But waiting is just quitting in slow motion.
Every day you hold back isn’t patience; it’s the comfort of potential over the risk of the actual.

And the world will keep handing you a script—the right degree, the respectable path, the predictable order—while God keeps handing you a calling that doesn’t fit their template.

You already know what you’ve been waiting to start.
The fact that that notification made your chest tighten is not fear. That’s recognition.

The race has your name on it.
You just have to quit a few things before you can run it.

Here’s your focus for this week:

Quit shrinking. Stop explaining why God gave you your gifts. You were built for expansion, not apology. Name one area where you’ve been dimming your light, and stop.

Quit feeding what’s killing you. The comparison feed, the criticism loop, the people who only show up to remind you of old versions of yourself. Step back from one today. Run clean.

Quit waiting for perfect. Pick one thing you’ve been delaying. Start messy. Start scared. Just start. The people building things aren’t flawless; they’re moving.

Anchor your week in this truth: “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

The race isn’t waiting for you to feel ready.

It’s waiting for you to run.

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8)

Devotion: Even in the darkest hours, God is our true safety. Trusting Him allows us to lie down and rest in the assurance of His constant protection.

WEDNESDAY: You can’t rush a rainbow.

Hard seasons aren’t interruptions; they’re preparation. Rain softens ground, reaches roots, and creates conditions for rainbows. Keep walking; something’s growing beneath the surface.

THURSDAY: Lead with kindness today.

One small act of kindness is the spark that ignites a fire, proving Scripture’s servant leadership design through science and changing lives daily

FRIDAY: Choose freedom over being right.

Unforgiveness locks you in chains you turned on yourself. Freedom comes when you set down yesterday’s grudges to pick up tomorrow’s calling. Choose to let go.

The Weight You Can’t Afford to Carry

You woke up this morning, and it was already there.
Before the coffee. Before the news.
That thing…
The name, the moment, the conversation that never got resolved.

It doesn’t announce itself anymore.
It just shows up.
And you carry it into another day without even deciding to.

That’s resentment.
We spend our days looking for peace and freedom.
While we haul around grudges we forgot we even picked up.

Every grudge is a lock you turn on yourself.
The person who hurt you isn’t carrying this weight; you are.

But forgiveness isn’t about them. It never was.
It’s about setting down what’s crushing you so you can pick up what you were meant to carry. Your calling, your purpose, your next step.
None of that fits in hands still gripping resentment.

The fact that you’re still reading means you already know what you’re carrying.
And that willingness to look at it is the first stone out of your hands.

Here’s your focus for today:

Name what you’re carrying. Open your notes right now and write one sentence: “I am still holding onto ___.” Don’t soften it. You can’t release what you won’t name.

Reframe the release. Forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay. It means you’re done letting it decide your day. Tell God you’re ready; not for their sake, but for yours.

Open your hands. Do one thing today that you’ve been delaying because of the weight. Your hands were made for building, not for holding onto what’s already gone.

Anchor your day in this truth: “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” — Colossians 3:13

The weight you’ve been carrying was never yours to keep.

Set it down.

The life waiting for you needs you free.

“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” (Colossians 3:14)

Devotion: Love is the glue that holds all other virtues together. It is the foundation of Christian character and community. Without love, our virtues become hollow. With love, they become powerful forces for unity and growth.
Action: Ask someone close to you, “Has there been any need you’ve had that I can help meet?”

Be the Spark Someone Needs Today

You’re having the kind of day where everything feels dim.
Then someone says something.
A word they didn’t have to say, a moment of attention they chose to give.
And something inside you ignites.

You’ve been carrying that moment for days.
Not because it was big.
Because someone saw you in the dark and decided you were worth lighting up.

That’s the thing about kindness.
It doesn’t need size.
It needs a spark.

Science calls it emotional contagion.
Someone shows you gentleness.
Your nervous system remembers.
Serotonin rises. Stress drops.
And you start looking for someone else to light up.

Jesus said in Matthew 20:26 that whoever wants to “be great” must be a “servant of all”.
Not eventually or when you’re ready. Now.
Greatness isn’t volume; it’s proximity.

I’m sure you’ve already lit something up for someone this week.
A held door, a genuine smile, a message sent without expecting anything back.
The fire is already moving.
Now do it with intention.

Here’s your focus for today:

Find who’s flickering: Before today ends, do one intentional act of kindness for someone who might need it. Don’t wait for a bigger moment. One spark is enough to start a chain reaction.

Light it and keep moving: Don’t announce it. Don’t wait for thanks. Your one act today becomes ten people helped by tomorrow.

Notice the ripple: Pay attention to how one act changes the next interaction (in you and in them). Small acts, flowing from a willing heart, carry more weight than you know.

Anchor your day in this truth: “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” — Matthew 20:26

One spark is all it takes.

God designed you to be that spark.
So go ahead and light the way.

“I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants…” (Psalm 85:8)

Devotion: God always speaks peace to those who listen. By choosing words of life and blessing, we echo His voice in our daily conversations.
Action: Before you say something negative, pause and replace it with a word of peace or blessing.

The Rainbow Comes After the Rain

It’s Wednesday already.
You’re carrying something heavy into the middle of your week.

You didn’t choose this season.
But here you are, in it.
And the rain hasn’t stopped yet.

The rain hasn’t stopped.
But here’s the beauty about rain:
It doesn’t block the rainbow. Rain creates it.

We spend so much energy trying to dodge the hard stuff.
But the rain you’re walking through right now isn’t wasted weather.
It’s doing something under the surface you can’t see yet.

Rain softens hard ground.
It reaches roots.
It prepares soil for what wants to grow.

The confidence you’re building grew because failure taught you what works.
The strength you didn’t know you had showed up because struggle demanded it.
The hard season you’re in isn’t interrupting the good thing you’re waiting for; it’s preparing it.

And you’re here.
You opened this email in the middle of something hard.
That’s not nothing.
That’s you still showing up.
The roots are already going deeper than you can see.

Here’s your focus for today:

Name the rain: Open your notes app right now and finish this sentence: “The hard thing I’ve been avoiding looking at is ___.” One sentence. That’s it. You can’t find meaning in what you won’t name.

Ask the right question: Instead of “When will this end?” ask, “What could this be preparing in me?” Write it down. Let it sit. The answer might surprise you.

Keep walking: Before today ends, do one small thing you would do if you weren’t afraid the storm would last forever. Act like the rainbow is coming, because it is.

Anchor your day in this truth: “Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”—James 1:2-3

God’s been in every storm you’ve walked through.
This one is no different.

Keep walking.
The rainbow’s coming.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice!… be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.” (2 Corinthians 13:11)

Your Moment Is Now

It’s Tuesday morning.
You’re sitting in your driveway, engine running, hand on the gearshift.
You know exactly where you need to go.
You’ve run the play in your head a hundred times.
And you still haven’t moved.

In football, they call that living in the huddle.
The play is drawn up.
The clock is running. But the snap never comes.

The snap is the moment strategy becomes action.
Before it, you have the perfect play drawn up in your mind.
After it, you have reality, and there’s no going back.

When Jesus called the fishermen, Matthew tells us they “immediately left their nets and followed him.”
Not after one more season.
Not when the conditions were right.
The snap happened, and they moved.

You already know what your snap is.
You’ve known for a while.
That awareness isn’t a burden.
That’s the play already in motion.

Here’s your focus for the week:

Name the snap: Write down the one move you’ve been delaying. The call, the project, the conversation. One thing, not five. Name it out loud.

Move within the hour: Do the first small part of it today, not tomorrow, not when conditions are perfect. The first step doesn’t have to be big. It just has to happen.

Stop living in the huddle: Stop living in the huddle. Name the excuse, the ‘not yet,’ the ‘not ready,’ the ‘not the right time’. Is it true, or just comfortable? God put the play in motion the day you were born.”

Anchor your week in this truth: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10

The field is open. The play is live.
Take the snap.
You were made for this exact moment.

“‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54:10)

It feels like justice to hold onto it, like you’re protecting yourself by keeping the record straight.
But blame doesn’t protect you.
It just keeps you tethered to the very thing you’re trying to move past.

Here’s the choice that changes everything:
Fault looks backward, asking who caused the damage.
Responsibility looks forward, asking what you’ll do with what’s in front of you now.

You see, what happened may not be your fault.
But your response is where your power (and freedom) lives.

You’ve already taken the hardest step: you’re reading this, which means you’ve acknowledged the weight.

So, here’s your focus for the week:

Name it: Tonight, before bed, write down one thing you’ve been blaming someone else for. You can’t release what you won’t acknowledge.

Release your grip: Every day you hold on is another day they control your peace. Give your burdens to God, and choose forward motion over standing still.

Take ownership of your next step: The people who rise aren’t the ones who had it easy. They’re the ones who stopped asking why it happened and started building with what remained.

Anchor your week in this truth: “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” — Philippians 3:13

This week, take ownership.

And take your freedom back.

Have you met the man who took worship to Ibiza?

Imagine this:
Church bells.
Then a bassline.
A bald priest in clerical black, hands moving over a DJ deck.
Gregorian chants threaded through synth waves.

Meet Padre Guilherme Peixoto:
Catholic priest and military chaplain.
One of the most unlikely figures in the electronic music world.

He started DJing in Afghanistan to lift the spirits of soldiers far from home.
Back in Portugal, his parish was drowning in debt, so he did what builders do—he used what he had:

Liturgical music and melodic techno.

He’s since played World Youth Day before 1.5 million pilgrims, dropped beats at Afterlife in Ibiza, and performed beneath Christ the Redeemer in Rio.

A priest.
A DJ deck.
Ave Maria over a bassline.
Not as a stunt. As worship.

He didn’t abandon the altar to stand behind the booth.
He brought the altar with him.

Faith doesn’t belong only in Sunday clothes, in quiet rooms, or in reverent whispers.
It belongs in the gym, the studio, the late-night grind, and even the beat drop at Ibiza.

Because God was never confined to the rooms we put Him in.

Psalm 100 says it plainly:
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.”

The method changes.
The foundation doesn’t.

Padre Guilherme didn’t bring God to Ibiza.
God was already there.
He just showed up to make the noise.

You don't need a DJ deck.
You just need to stop keeping God for Sundays.
Today, take Him wherever you’re heading next.

Stop shrinking your God-given vision for others’ comfort. Audit your circle, raise your standards, and surround yourself with people who sharpen your potential.

FRIDAY: Turn down the noise and listen.

Your purpose isn’t lost; it’s buried under expectations and safe choices. Remember what you loved before, take action now, and let clarity come.

“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” (Mark 4:39)

Devotion: Jesus brings calm in the fiercest storms. His authority over every trouble assures us we can trust His voice to still our fears and bring peace.

Pull the thread. Identify one thing you loved doing before the world told you to be practical. Don’t overthink it; just name it. That’s where you start.

Start moving. Clarity shows up when you’re in motion, not when you’re waiting for the perfect moment.

Turn down the noise. Stop listening to the voices telling you to stay small. Get quiet enough to hear the one that’s been whispering to you since childhood.

Small choices stack.
One decision at a time, you’re either laying a foundation or undermining it.

It takes zero effort to see what’s broken. Your job. Your marriage. Your bank account…

The list writes itself, doesn’t it? But that’s not strength. That’s gravity.
Strength is choosing love over hate, growth over comfort, truth over convenience.
Lay enough of those bricks, and suddenly there’s something that wasn’t there before.

Here’s your focus for today:

Choose one brick. One conversation, one workout, one prayer. Just one. You don’t need to overhaul your life today; just lay the next brick with intention.

Watch what you’re building. Every time you lower the standard “just this once,” notice it. Awareness is the first step to changing the pattern.

Renew your mind first. Where your mind goes, the rest of you follows. Start the day with something that feeds your foundation, not something that cracks it.
